Minnesota: America’s Sizzling Hotbed Mecca of Action Sports – X-Games Now Moving to Minneapolis

Mention Minnesota and it’s the usual plethora of stereotypes that come to mind, frigid temps, feet of snow, sports teams that will simply never win a championship and of course may God rest his soul, Prince.

As 2017 approaches, there is an energy building in our great city, an electrifying vibe that begins in January and presents itself through the entire summer months.

The world of Action Sports has decided to make Minneapolis it’s kingdom for 2017.  The best athletes in multitudes of disciplines will present themselves to our great state, event after event for over 8 months.

Kick off January with the world of the Amsoil Championship Snowcross Series, at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota.  The world’s greatest snowcross racers including all time wins leader, Tucker Hibbert, along with the deepest field of riders in Snocross history.   Top riders Tim Trembley, Kody Kamm, Lincoln Lemieux and Corin Todd will be looking to take down Hibbert and kick off 2017 in raging fashion.

We look forward to seeing the insanity that is Red Bull Crashed Ice.  St. Paul is overtaken by over 100,000 screaming fans standing outside to observe in all its glory,  four people, 600 meters of jumps, chicanes and rollers, all racing downhill on a sheet of manicured ice.  This is not for the faint of heart, but is a must see on your bucket list.

With the outstanding success of last years event we hope our friends at Red Bull will again be turning ERX Motorsports Park into a snowmobile mecca, with the 2nd Annual Red Bull Snow Boundaries.  Testing the will and endurance of even the greatest snowmobilers, Snow Boundaries is a Cross Country race like no other, watch top factory riders and amateurs brave the custom built track and to be the last man standing

All hell breaks loose February 18th, as Monster Energy Supercross Series makes its Minnesota debut, at the all new US Bank Stadium.  Minnesotan’s, Ryan Dungey , Jeremy and Alex Martin lead the charge against the fastest Supercross racers in the world as the stadium goes from a football venue to the lights and spectacle that is Supercross.  Cap off this amazing day to our official Afterparty and celebrate all night in style!

After taking a break, fast forward 5 months to July 13-16 2017, where again Minnesota is the epicenter of all that is Action Sports.  The granddaddy of them all X-Games rolls its Cirque Du Soleil, action sports style into Minneapolis.  The best skaters, bmx’ers, motocrossers and more converge on the City of Lakes to erupt an action sports firestorm as never seen before.

The fun never ends as the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series makes its yearly pilgrimage to the hallowed valleys of Spring Creek MX Park in scenic Millville, MN.  Again, Ryan Dungey graces the stage as well as Jeremy & Alex Martin riding the Track the Martins built.  Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb lead the charge to derail the Minnesota freight train that may take place at Spring Creek.

2017 will be an unforgettable year for Minnesota, mark your calendars, get your hotel rooms ready and fill up Social Media with every memory that’s made.  Follow Ride MN on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for constant updates to events, and don’t forget to hashtag #RideMN and share those memories with us all.
